Class 1
Grief to Growth: Facilitating Grief and Loss Work in the Adult Population - 3 CE Credits
9:30 AM - 12:30 PM EST
Many times our clients come to us for help in the most desperate of situations. Sometimes we as clinicians have a desire to fix the client's situation. Ultimately when it comes to the grief experience, the goal is not to fix the client, but to be present with them. Important to be aware of are the cultural, neurobiological and theoretical frameworks that can inform how we guide clients through their grief work.
Trainer, Carrie Boone, MSW, LCSW-C, CGP is a licensed clinical social worker and certified grief professional, and the author of Unbelievable Grief: Incredible Grace.

Class 2
Trauma Informed Relapse Prevention - 3 CE Credits
1:00 PM - 4:00 PM EST
Some clients enter treatment, exhibit a genuine desire to change, and live recovery. Others have some external motivations to change, and go right back to using. The clients who tend to affect us most are those who genuinely want to change and continue to relapse anyway. When we truly understand trauma, and we approach relapse from that perspective, we are no longer helpless as therapists.
Trainer, Gwendolyn Bammel, LMSW CAADC CCS CTS is the Behavioral Health Manager of Henry Ford Eastwood Recovery Center in Michigan and a person in long-term recovery.
