This course offers a comprehensive introduction to clinical work with minor-attracted persons (MAPs), providing a clear and evidence-based foundation for therapists entering this complex area of practice. Participants will learn what minor attraction is—and what it is not—while examining the ontogeny of minor attraction across neurological, developmental, and conditioned pathways. The course also addresses the significant stigma, bias, and cultural misconceptions that frequently prevent individuals from seeking help, emphasizing the role of the therapist in fostering safety, reducing shame, and promoting engagement in treatment.

Throughout the program, participants will explore the most common clinical presentations among MAPs, review contemporary research, and learn practical strategies and techniques for assessment and intervention. Ethical considerations, risk management, and professional responsibility are integrated throughout, equipping clinicians to approach this work with confidence, compassion, and clinical rigor.
